National Forests in Northern California

The Tahoe and Eldorado National Forests straddle the crest of the Sierra Nevada's in Northern California and encompass a vast territory from the golden foothills on the western slope to the high peaks of the Sierra crest.

The abundance of lakes and rivers, mountains and meadows, forests and fields makes for a variety of opportunities to explore the rugged beauty. The forests offer hiking, camping, swimming, rafting, hunting, sightseeing, skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing, bicycling and dozens of other activities.
