Get creative this holiday season. Design and build your own gingerbread house and enter it into the annual gingerbread house contest. All entries will be on display at 316 Vernon Street, December 4-December 19 for the community to enjoy.

You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I’m telling you why, Santa Claus is coming to town! This year, Santa is visiting neighborhoods on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings December 10-19, 2024. Santa will start his route at 6:00pm each night. We anticipate each route will run 1 to 1.5 hours. Although Santa lives in the North Pole, he doesn’t want to risk getting sick before Christmas so all visits are weather permitting. (Look for updates on the Roseville Parks, Recreation & Events Facebook page by 5pm on each evening for changes due to weather.) Santa would like to visit all neighborhoods, he just can’t fit everyone into his busy schedule but hopes to get to more neighborhoods next year. Santa will also not be able to visit with children one on one during his neighborhood tour.

La Liste – Everything or Nothing (2021) – Heitz and Anthamatten set off on an ambitious new endeavor that will take them across the world and redefine what it means to be a freerider. The Auburn Symphony Presents: Masterworks II – Sublime Sibelius! Jean Sibelius’ first symphony is one of the most romantic pieces ever written and is one of Maestro Murray’s personal favorites. You will love this idyllic, musical gem that explores the entire palette of sounds that a symphony orchestra can create! Soloist Jesse Barrett, a true virtuoso on the oboe, will charm audiences with his melodic interpretation of Mozart’s Concerto for Oboe.

Alaska is gearing up to do something that no other state has ever done: Adopting a pair of election reforms that will eliminate traditional party primaries and allow voters to rank their candidates by preference. The surprising results spark new alliances, a growing call for election reform, and fierce pushback from political parties. Could changing how Americans vote also change politics for the better?

The Auburn Symphony Presents their annual Family Concert, which will be “Lemony Snicket: The Composer is Dead”. Beloved Narrator Omari Tau will be narrating! This show emphasizes and engages with youth in the audience to learn about the different instrument sections of the orchestra. Jenna Son, Grand Prize Winner of the 2024 Young Artists Competition will perform Sibelius’ Violin Concerto, Op. 47. An Instrument Petting Zoo immediately follows the concert lead by Auburn Symphony musicians and Placer High School Music students. Open to all ages, meet the musicians and try out an instrument!

The State Theatre Acting Company is honored to premiere the first Northern California production of playwright Ben Abbott’s comedy Grave Mistakes: A Haunted Rom-Com. Ray and Molly are trying to fend off their landlord and a paranormal investigator who want to turn their work attic into a certified haunted vacation rental. But is it? And as Molly writes her latest novel is she in love with her editor, Ray, and he with her, and can’t they just admit it for crying out loud? A special VIP Reception featuring a Q&A session with playwright Ben Abbott, director Rick Schlussel, and the cast follows the March 15th performance. The VIP ticket includes admission to the play and the reception, plus a specialty cocktail.

For a woman in her 50s who is not an extreme athlete, it was sometimes grueling, occasionally harrowing, often exhilarating and always surprising. She started out alone, disillusioned with the state of the world and worried about climate change, to look for different ways of caring for the land and each other. She ended the journey a bit wiser, more hopeful, in love and with a passion to share this story.

This play is an adaptation of the very first novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle featuring the character Sherlock Holmes that includes a clash of wills and ways of life. “A Study in Scarlet” is the debut novel of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle featuring the iconic detective Sherlock Holmes first published in 1887. This classic mystery novel takes readers on a captivating journey as Holmes and Watson investigate a complex murder case that leads them into the heart of the criminal underworld.
