Join us for our last “Suds & Buds” volunteer hangout of the year! This is an informal gathering of Placer Land Trust volunteers and interested others – guaranteed to be a good time! Get to know other people outside of the volunteer group you usually work with, chat about conservation or anything under the sun while enjoying good food and drink! There will be no program, no ask to do anything. Just good cheer. Placer Land Trust will provide light refreshments. Beer, hard seltzer, soft drinks and sparking water will be available at the venue for individual purchase. This is a free, family- and guest- friendly event. Feel free to bring others you think might be interested.

Welcome to the 7th annual Huffin’ for the Stuffin’ Turkey Trot presented by the City of Lincoln Recreation Department. Our 5K & 10K runs are LIVE with professional timers this year as we continue our festive engagement with families and community. There is a .17 mile Donut Dash for children 4 to 7 years old to take part in. This event is a FUN RUN and meant for community engagement & family FUN! There will be 1st, 2nd & 3rd place finisher awards as well as general finisher award for participants who sign up before the deadline. The proceeds from our run helps to support the City of Lincoln Recreations Scholarship Fund which helps offer scholarships (financial aid) to cover fees for our recreation programs to families in need. Registration: Registration is now open thru November 25th 2024. Please register by November 1st to receive a shirt and finisher award!

Come on out & celebrate all that you’re thankful for with friends & family at this year’s Turkey Trot in Roseville! Plan to arrive no later than 8:15am in order to park and arrive at the starting area for announcements. Race announcements and course instructions given at 8:30am. The race starts promptly at 9:00am. Parking for this event is FREE! Take advantage of Roseville’s convenient parking. Refreshments provided for all registered participants following the race. All adult participants receive Unisex long sleeve race shirt. Youth will receive 100% cotton shirts. Late registrants are not guaranteed shirts and sizes. Register online by November 1, 2024 to guarantee your shirt and size! We will be accepting non-perishable food donations on race day. These food donations with be given to Saint Vincent de Paul, Roseville, to help stock their Food Locker program.

Check-in at the Auburn City Hall Rose Room at 1225 Lincoln Way. Pick up your map, passport, and a goodie bag and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and seasonal treats before you start your tour. Raffle tickets for an opportunity to win a variety of gift baskets will be sold at check-in and along the route. Photo opportunities! Musical entertainment!

Get creative this holiday season. Design and build your own gingerbread house and enter it into the annual gingerbread house contest. All entries will be on display at 316 Vernon Street, December 4-December 19 for the community to enjoy.

Join us as we follow young Clara while she dances her way from her family’s annual Christmas party, through enchanting snow flakes and into the magical Land of the Sweets where she meets a cast of whimsical characters who come to life in her dreams.

You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I’m telling you why, Santa Claus is coming to town! This year, Santa is visiting neighborhoods on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings December 10-19, 2024. Santa will start his route at 6:00pm each night. We anticipate each route will run 1 to 1.5 hours. Although Santa lives in the North Pole, he doesn’t want to risk getting sick before Christmas so all visits are weather permitting. (Look for updates on the Roseville Parks, Recreation & Events Facebook page by 5pm on each evening for changes due to weather.) Santa would like to visit all neighborhoods, he just can’t fit everyone into his busy schedule but hopes to get to more neighborhoods next year. Santa will also not be able to visit with children one on one during his neighborhood tour.

The Auburn Symphony Presents: Masterworks II – Sublime Sibelius! Jean Sibelius’ first symphony is one of the most romantic pieces ever written and is one of Maestro Murray’s personal favorites. You will love this idyllic, musical gem that explores the entire palette of sounds that a symphony orchestra can create! Soloist Jesse Barrett, a true virtuoso on the oboe, will charm audiences with his melodic interpretation of Mozart’s Concerto for Oboe.

The Auburn Symphony Presents their annual Family Concert, which will be “Lemony Snicket: The Composer is Dead”. Beloved Narrator Omari Tau will be narrating! This show emphasizes and engages with youth in the audience to learn about the different instrument sections of the orchestra. Jenna Son, Grand Prize Winner of the 2024 Young Artists Competition will perform Sibelius’ Violin Concerto, Op. 47. An Instrument Petting Zoo immediately follows the concert lead by Auburn Symphony musicians and Placer High School Music students. Open to all ages, meet the musicians and try out an instrument!

An interactive Melodrama adapted by T.S. Forsyth from the script by Dion Boucicault, based upon the novel by Alexandre Dumas (author of The Three Musketeers). Conjoined identical twins, separated at birth but connected through their senses, seek to defend and revenge their family. Comedy, adventure, romance, action (including sword fights) and more. The Quarry Amphitheater Presents: Y&T! Y&T (originally known as Yesterday & Today) predated and influenced many of the bands that would later define the hard rock and metal scenes of the 1980s. The band’s high-energy performances and dedication to their craft helped them develop a loyal fanbase, and their influence is acknowledged in the memoirs of major rock acts from that era.

This play is an adaptation of the very first novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle featuring the character Sherlock Holmes that includes a clash of wills and ways of life. “A Study in Scarlet” is the debut novel of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle featuring the iconic detective Sherlock Holmes first published in 1887. This classic mystery novel takes readers on a captivating journey as Holmes and Watson investigate a complex murder case that leads them into the heart of the criminal underworld.
